YottaCycle is the long term storage integrated within YottaVault.

All company data can be placed into one of two categories – Critical Information and Important Information.

• Critical information is necessary for day-to-day operations and resides in the system’s primary storage (YottaVault) for guarded confidentiality and rapid accessibility.
• Important information including historical, legal and regulatory information can be securely protected and archived to secondary storage (YottaCycle).

Critical data is typically accessed on a regular basis; however, as a given file is accessed less frequently over time, this data modifies from critical to important, thus the value of the data changes. As a result of setting retention rules within YottaVault, a file may cease being critical and may be reclassified as important within a certain designated timeframe or inactivity. YottaVault, in turn, automatically transfers this data to YottaCycle. This action is performed routinely, without intervention by IT personnel. Data residing in YottaCycle requires less monetary commitment, with an identical level of security while still remaining easily accessed via the YottaVault web portal.

How Does it Work?

As the backup sets are created retention rules are defined. Once these rules are in position, data is transferred between YottaVault to YottaCycle automatically and stored in a more economical storage location (YottaCycle) until data accessibility is required. The point-and-click technology is engaged with Yotta280 web portal and with only a few clicks “important information” protected in YottaCycle is reinstated in your office.
