YottaDiscovery is a value added feature of YottaVault, allowing the ability to analyze the entire concentration of data on a company’s network.
The YottaDiscovery service generates numerous reports that help identify possible storage inefficiencies, such as stale or redundant data. The results help both the business and your IT resource estimate the size of the backup solution. Optimizing your company’s LAN or WAN makes your backup procedures more efficient and cost-effective.
How Does It Work?
Using the YottaClient, a scan is conducted of data discovered on the network. A file summary report illustrates an overview of scanned files on the network. More details are available when the user drills-down. The display includes filters to allow analysis of specific group files. The File Summary can show, for a specified time period numbers and sizes of:
- All files
- Duplicate files
- Duplicate groups
- Changed and new files
- Unchanged files
- Unaccessed files
YottaDiscovery can be used prior to implementing YottaVault to analyze a customer’s entire network and use YottaDiscovery to improve their data storage blueprint.
